This summer has brought back volunteers to Joy Ranch! What a blessing each individual and group has been to our ministry and the kids have loved the extra special attention as well as activities.

The North Spartan Baptist Association from Boiling Springs, SC had 18 people representing 5 different churches when they visited in June.  In addition to the Sunday evening cookout and block party (see photos), they conducted a VBS with our kiddos.  They led a Sunday morning outdoor worship service with our residents and staff.  Then they prepared and served three delicious meals a day (four days) to our residents and staff.  In addition, they cleared a hedge row/pasture fence, worked on a staff apartment renovation project which include painting and replacing flooring, and did some cleaning projects as well.

A few days later, we also had Mark and Lori Lindhorst from Alexandria, Kentucky who took their vacation to come do some landscaping/beautification projects on campus.  They planted roses in front of the gym and along the end of the Collins Bldg. next to the road.  This is the fourth summer they have taken vacation time to come do similar landscaping projects for us.

Also in June, we had Roving Volunteers in Christ Service (RVICS) volunteer for the entire month! Couples from TX, FL, GA, NC, and AR were on campus serving in so many ways. Two of the men finished the laundry/bathhouse for the campground while two other men helped with repairs in the Collins building. They also worked in our Ruby Handy building. Two of the ladies helped in our office while the other three ladies painted, then they worked together to organize our items for the Live Nativity we have each year. They also helped with weeding around campus as well as repainting some signs on campus.
